Living an Organic Life

w/ Karen Golden

Karen Golden, of Michigan Heirlooms, an organic vegetable greenhouse, talks about her journey into living an organic life. Being ‘organic’ is not just about your food. In fact, the food we consume is a small percentage of an organic lifestyle. In this talk, Karen will share her personal
journey from a nearly 100% chemical/synthetic lifestyle to her now mostly organic lifestyle.

In 1999, Michigan Heirlooms was born. Today, Karen
sells over 30,000 organic vegetable starter plants a year
to local customers out of the greenhouses located on her
property in Highland, MI.

Outside of selling season, she travels the country giving talks, sharing her passion for organic fresh food. She is
a steward of the land, the soil and the seed.
